Repair Services

Electric MotorRepair.

Every repair follows a disciplined process built around root-cause diagnostics, precision workmanship, and documented test results — so your motor returns to service stronger than before.

What We Service

AC & DC Motor Repair. All Brands.

REM Industrial repairs motors across all makes, voltages, and frame sizes — built around root-cause diagnostics so the failure doesn't repeat itself. We fix the problem, not just the symptom.

Bearing Failure & Contamination

Premature bearing failure from contamination, improper lubrication, or misalignment is one of the most common motor problems we see. We identify the root cause and correct it — not just replace the bearing.

Insulation Breakdown & Winding Faults

Electrical insulation degrades from heat, moisture, and age — leading to ground faults, phase-to-phase shorts, and catastrophic winding failures. Surge testing and hi-pot testing reveal what visual inspection misses.

Core Degradation

Hot spots and lamination damage in the stator core cause efficiency losses and thermal failure. Core-loss testing identifies degraded laminations before a rewind that would otherwise fail prematurely.

Misalignment, Imbalance & Vibration

Excessive vibration from shaft imbalance, misalignment, or mechanical looseness shortens bearing life and destroys windings over time. Dynamic balancing and vibration analysis eliminate the source.

Our Repair Process

No Guesswork. Documented at Every Stage.

Every motor that enters our shop follows the same disciplined process — from intake inspection through final load testing. We don't just fix the symptom. We find the cause, correct it, verify the result, and give you a paper trail that proves it.

01

Intake Inspection & Testing

Each motor is inspected, documented, and electrically tested on arrival — establishing a baseline condition record and identifying failure modes before any work begins.

02

Advanced Electrical Testing

Surge, hi-pot, winding resistance, and core-loss tests expose hidden insulation and winding issues that would otherwise lead to early failure after return to service.

03

Precision Mechanical Inspection

Complete teardown with documented inspection of shafts, housings, and bearings for wear, misalignment, and damage. Dynamic balancing and vibration analysis eliminate the root causes of noise, heat, and inefficiency.

04

Repair, Rewind, or Remanufacture

Whether it's machining a housing, replacing bearings, or performing a full rewind with upgraded insulation systems and VPI treatment — work is performed to restore or exceed original OEM specifications.

05

Load Testing & Documentation

Every repaired unit is run-tested under load or no-load conditions, vibration-checked, and electrically verified. You receive a detailed test report — and your motor is returned ready to drop into service with confidence.

High Power Motor Testing

Verified Under Real Power Before It Leaves Our Floor.

Our Phenix MTS D-Series system performs load and no-load testing on AC and DC machines at 300–1,000 kVA — including induction and synchronous types — with full voltage regulation and integrated digital metering.

  • Prove performance before install — controlled multi-tap output and regulated voltage surface issues in a safe, repeatable environment
  • Data you can trust — comprehensive instrumentation generates traceable reports for acceptance criteria and warranty records
  • Protect your asset — built-in overload, ground-fault, zero-start, and E-stop protections safeguard the motor during testing

Beyond the Shop

Full Support From Failure to Return to Service

REM's motor repair capability doesn't end at the shop door. Our field service team handles removal, transport, reinstallation, and commissioning — and when replacement makes more sense than repair, we supply new motors from leading manufacturers.

Field Service Support

Not every motor issue requires a shop visit. REM's field team handles on-site troubleshooting, vibration analysis, laser alignment, and reinstallation — bringing the expertise directly to your facility to minimize downtime.

New Motor Supply

When repair isn't the best investment, REM supplies new motors from WEG, Baldor, Marathon, US Motors, and TECO-Westinghouse. We help you evaluate repair vs. replacement and deliver the right unit fast.

Rewinds & Remanufacture

When testing reveals a rewind is the best path forward, REM applies upgraded insulation systems, precision winding techniques, and VPI treatment — often improving performance beyond original OEM standards.
