VFD Bearing Protection
VFDs induce high-frequency shaft currents that cause EDM pitting and premature bearing failure. REM supplies a complete mitigation stack — cutting bearing currents at the source and at the shaft.

VFD Bearing Protection

VFDs can induce high-frequency currents that discharge through motor bearings — causing EDM pitting, lubricant breakdown, and premature failure. Used together, AEGIS and CoolBLUE solutions cut bearing currents at the source and at the shaft, extending motor life, reducing downtime, and improving EMC performance.
AEGIS® SGR — Shaft Grounding Ring
360° conductive microfibers encircle the motor shaft to continuously bleed off induced voltage — preventing EDM discharge through bearings. Ideal for new installs and retrofits on any VFD-driven motor.
AEGIS® Grounding Straps
Flexible braided straps create a low-impedance bond from motor frame to ground — stabilizing the return current path and enhancing the effectiveness of shaft grounding rings.
CoolBLUE® Inductive Absorbers
Nanocrystalline cores installed around the VFD's motor output leads act as common-mode chokes — absorbing the high-frequency noise that drives bearing currents before it reaches the motor.
