Electric Motor Repair
Repairing a motor isn’t just about fixing what’s broken – it’s about restoring confidence in the equipment you depend on. At REM Industrial, every repair follows a disciplined process designed to uncover the real problem, apply the right fix, and return your motor to service stronger than before.
What We Service
Keep your operation online with expert AC and DC motor repairs built around root-cause diagnostics, precision workmanship, and proven test protocols. REM Industrial restores performance, reliability, and efficiency—then helps you prevent the next failure.
Typical Issues We Fix
- Bearing failure, contamination, lubrication breakdown
- Electrical insulation breakdown and winding faults
- Core degradation (hot spots/lamination damage)
- Misalignment, imbalance, looseness, excessive vibration
Rewinds
When testing or inspection reveals that a rewind is the best solution, REM Industrial applies upgraded insulation systems, precision winding techniques, and industry best practices that often improve performance beyond original OEM standards. Every rewind is followed by comprehensive electrical and mechanical testing to verify efficiency gains, thermal integrity, and long-term reliability.
Our service doesn’t end at the shop door. If your operation requires motor removal, transportation, or reinstallation, our field service team handles it seamlessly.
High Power Motor Testing
We verify repaired and new motors under real power before they return to service. Our Doble D-Series (300–1000 kVA) system performs load and no-load testing on AC and DC machines—including induction and synchronous types—with full voltage regulation and integrated digital metering for kW, kVAR, kVA, and power factor, producing a documented test report.
Why It Matters
- Prove performance before install: Controlled multi-tap output and regulated voltage surface issues in a safe, repeatable environment. The system can draw up to 200% of rated tap current for short durations to expose weaknesses.
- Data you can trust: Comprehensive instrumentation and software generate traceable reports for acceptance criteria and warranty records.
- Protect your asset: Built-in protections and interlocks (overload, ground-fault detection, zero-start, E-stop) safeguard the motor during testing.

Our Process
HOW IT ALL COMES TOGETHER
Intake and Evaluation
Each motor that enters our shop is inspected, documented, and tested so we know exactly what condition it’s in—and what it will take to get it back online.
Advanced Electrical Testing
We run surge, hi-pot, winding resistance, and core-loss tests to expose hidden insulation and winding issues that would otherwise lead to early failure.
Precision Mechanical Inspection
Our technicians tear down the motor and check shafts, housings, and bearings for wear, misalignment, or damage. Dynamic balancing and vibration analysis eliminate the root causes of noise, heat, and inefficiency.
Skilled Repairs and Rewinds
Whether it’s machining a housing, replacing bearings, or performing a full rewind, we use high-grade materials and proven methods that meet or exceed OEM standards.
Full System Verification and Delivery
Before it leaves our floor, your motor is run-tested under load or no-load conditions, vibration-checked, and electrically verified. You receive a detailed test report—and your motor is safely delivered back, ready to drop into service with confidence.
