Keeping You Running Since 1935

From a One-Room Shop to New England's Industrial Partner.

REM Industrial's roots run deep. Founded in 1935 as Reliable Electric Motor, we started as a one-room motor shop keeping Hartford's production lines moving.

In the 1950s we relocated to East Service Road in Hartford's North End, and in 1985 we put down permanent roots beside historic Brainard Field at 285 Murphy Road — home to our headquarters today.

As New England industry evolved, so did we — growing from repairs to full-scale solutions and earning a reputation for grit, craftsmanship, and trust across three generations of the Langille family.

In 2021 we opened a 55,000-square-foot repair facility at 30 Gando Drive in New Haven and acquired Standard Electrical Testing Company (SETCO), an electrical testing firm with 50+ years of service. In 2025 we acquired Bay State Bearings, a leading provider of power transmission products founded in 1948, with locations in Springfield and Hartford.

Still Family-Run

Still Relentless About Uptime.

What hasn't changed since 1935 is our commitment to reliability. Still family-owned and operated, REM Industrial is led by our founder's grandson, Brian Langille, who carries forward the hands-on standard set in that one-room shop.

From rewinding motors by hand in the early days to providing advanced testing, field service, and distribution solutions today — we've always believed that downtime is the enemy of progress. That belief still drives everything we do.

Today, REM Industrial is a full-service partner to industrial operations across New England and beyond — repairing and replacing motors and pumps, supplying bearings and power transmission products, and supporting complex automation and controls. We bring the same work ethic and problem-solving mindset that built our name generations ago.
